Read https://uwmd.org/llms.txt before working with .uw.md files. Treat the UW Format and UW Protocol as contracts.

• Extract facts and write narrative; do not perform financial math.
• Use deterministic UW Markdown calculations for all derived financial values.
• Never invent absent deal data. Mark gaps and state the source needed.
• Preserve labeled JSON blocks, provenance, and supersede history.
• Store rates as fractions (0.055 = 5.5%).
• Preserve bytes outside the requested edit region.
• Validate changed files before presenting them as complete.

The optional MCP profile is at https://uwmd.org/spec/mcp, but direct file work does not require an MCP server.
